"Lucius, leave Draco alone on this. She's a half-blood, that's better than mudblood, right?" Narcissa Malfoy was pleading with her husband to stop guilting their son for bringing home a half-blood girlfriend.
"No, Narcissa, it's not. It's the same. She's not a pure-blood, therefor, I don't condone this engagement." Lucius stood firm on his beliefs.
"When did you become so thick? A half-blood saved you from Azkaban after the battle at Hogwarts!"
"But the same half-blood put me in Azkaban the first time around!" Lucius's posture became more rigid as he grew angrier, "But that has nothing to do with this."
"When did you become so hard and unyielding?" Narcissa hated playing these cards, but she also didn't want to lose this particular argument.
"When did you start losing sight of your values?"
Now Narcissa was angry, too, "I haven't lost sight of my values, I just care about our son's happiness. Unlike you." Next thing Narcissa knew, Lucius's hand came down hard on her face. She staggered backward; clutching her stinging cheek.
Lucius immediatly snapped out of his angry mood and into a shocked and appologetic one, "Narcissa, I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to, I-"
"No," She cut him off, stepping away from his aproaching arms, "Don't touch me. I will not be treated this way. We're done." SHe paused before the door to the kitchen, "And I'll see you in court." She left the room swiftly and ran into Draco, who was standing outside the door.
"Mom?" Draco said slowly, reaching up to examine the red mark on his mother's face. He lowered his eyes, "I'm sorry I caused this."
"Of course you didn't, sweetheart," Narcissa said as she pulled her son into her arms, "This isn't your problem, dear. It's your father and I's."
"Where will you go?"
"I don't know. My sister's house, probably."
"Aunt Andromeda? But I thought-"
"Everything's different now, Draco." She kissed him lightly on the forehead and went upstairs to pack.
As soon as she was gone, Draco knew he couldn't msrry Carla. The relationship had torn his parents apart, so he couldn't live with that over his head. He spun on his heels and went off to find Carla; the relationship had to end. Now.

Thirty minutes after her fight with Lucius, Narcissa Black was standing on the front stoop of her older sister, Andromeda Tonks's house; bags in hand. She tentativly knocked on the door, hoping that it'd be Dromeda that opened the door, and not her grandson, Teddy.
Sure enough, the door opened and a tall woman with long, brown hair and doe eyes peeked out. Before Narcissa could explain herself, Andromeda wrapped her arms around her sister and the two women cried together. Narcissa was so glad to hug Andromeda again; she'd missed her so much. Maybe sometimes it takes one broken relationship to mend another.

Snape's Final Time With Lily
"Eight minutes," muttered Snape to himself. "I only have eight minutes to see her."
He was back in Spinner's End, in the grey gloom of the house where he grew up, five blocks away from where Lily Evans lived. But tomorrow, she would be Lily Potter.
Snape burst out of his house, running down the familiar streets of his childhood. They had not spoken to each other since they were both fifteen, but childhood instinct guided him to where Lily would be tonight. It was where she thirstily drank his knowledge of wands and dementors and wanted to learn more about her magical abilities. It was where they had spent long summer days together, leani

The 7th Years' Ball
*~*The 7th Years' Ball*~*
"Hermione, help!" a high strung female voice broke the silence that formerly reigned in the room. Hermione Granger, seventh year student and Head Girl at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, looked up from her Charms notes to see her good friend Ginny Weasley looking positively frantic.
"What is it, Gin? Did you forget about a Potions quiz again?"
"No, I- can we talk in private?" the younger girl's eyes were wild and wide.
"Just close the door," Hermione set her notes aside and made space next to her on the bed, "Now, what are you so upset about?"
"Well, you know how the End of Term Ball

"HERMIONE!"
Hermione broke off from the kiss with Draco to stare into the horrified faces of her friends. She started blushing, her face heating up until she thought that it would fry right off her skull.
"Uh, hey, guys," she said in a total trying-to-be-casual voice. "What's up?"
Harry and Ron just stared at her in total shock. Ron's face was starting to resemble a beet, and Harry's face what getting as white as paper. His mouth was open, and Hermione had to stop herself from telling him to close it before a fly flew into it. The moment was just too tense for that sort of humor.
Draco was still standing behind her, a
